Pilots launched for more physical education at universities


In order to provide more physical education in the course of 2021, eight universities are exploring the possibilities of using corona quick tests and other ways of facilitating more physical education. The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science has given the green light for eight pilots spread throughout the country. Pieter Duisenberg, Chairman of Association of Universities in the Netherlands : "Universities are working hard to offer students the prospect of more physical education. Students and lecturers miss the meetings that are so important for our education. These pilots can help."

The pilots will take place in Groningen, Delft, Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Rotterdam, Nijmegen and Utrecht. In these pilots, universities of applied sciences and MBO institutions will cooperate.

The following knowledge institutions are participating in the pilot projects:

Groningen: University of Groningen, Hanze University Groningen, NP, UMC and Aletta Jacobs Institute

Delft: TU Delft, The Hague University of Applied Sciences, ROC Mondriaan

Amsterdam: Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Hogeschool van Amsterdam, Hotelschool The Hague, ROC van Amsterdam

Eindhoven: TU Eindhoven, Fontys University of Applied Sciences, ROC Summa

Rotterdam: Erasmus University Rotterdam, University of Applied Sciences Rotterdam, ROC Albeda

Nijmegen: Radboud UMC, HAN University of Applied Sciences, ROC Nijmegen

Utrecht: UMC, Utrecht University of Applied Sciences and the MBO Amersfoort
