The Dutch universities are pleased with the announcement by the international group of research funding bodies (Science Europe) and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) that, from 2020, all publications resulting from projects funded by the affiliated bodies will be published exclusively in fully open access journals.

Symposium new Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity
It is vital that research is carried out in accordance with the principles of research integrity. In September 2018, a new Code of Conduct for Research Integrity will be published. As of 1 October this new code will officially replace the previous 2004 Code.
Contracts Springer Nature and Taylor & Francis published
Earlier this year the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) reached an agreement on the main issues with Springer Nature and Taylor & Francis. In the past months details have been fleshed out in the contract. Both publishers have now agreed to publish their contract.

Open access deal reached with Wolters Kluwer
As part of its negotiations with Wolters Kluwer to extend the contract for legal and fiscal professional literature, the VSNU has agreed open-access terms. The 27 academic journals in Wolters Kluwer’s collection of otherwise mainly professional literature will be subject to new and explicit open-access embargo rules.
