Today the new website about the research programme Digital Society has been launched. In the research programme thirty professors of the fourteen Dutch universities join forces and are working together to secure the Netherlands leading international position in the field of human-centred information technology and to find solutions to global challenges.

In this globalising world with its borderless science and education, Dutch universities play a leading role. Universities and universities of applied sciences wish to make the most of the opportunities offered by international collaboration, taking the quality and accessibility of higher education as a starting point. Internationalisation therefore requires careful consideration.

Today, the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) and Minister Van Engelshoven signed the sector agreement on university education. This agreement establishes how the expenditure of student loans will be arranged.
